09-11 2024

Recently, CHINT Green Energy signed the EPC contract agreement with NamPower regarding a 100MWac solar project in Rosh Pinah of Namibia, which is so far the largest project of its kind in the country. This is also a big step forward for CHINT in African markets.

The project, located at the peripheral area of Rosh Pinah, co-funded by KfW and NamPower, is part of the country's goal for the green energy transition, and CHINT Green Energy, jointly with its partner China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Company (CJIC), are honored to make contributions to this end and pledged to deliver this project to the highest standards. Upon its commission, this 100MWac solar project will generate over 300,000,000 kWh green energy to Namibia every year, equivalent to a tremendous CO2 reduction of over 250k tons, and remarkably alleviate the energy shortage threatening the neighbor regions.

As the biggest challenge, the project site is actually surrounded by deserts, where extreme temperatures and particular soil conditions will definitely bring unexpected difficulties. Anyway, CHINT’s experience in all landforms and climates, and the expertise in providing the One-stop Green Energy Solution, are the key to the successful delivery of the project.
